Tracking Number

I sold a Christmas sweater on December 14, 2024. The buyer lives close to my home and after he paid for the sweater, he came by my house to pick it up. Now ebay says my seller performance is degraded from Top Seller to Above Average because there was no tracking number. Please help me to remove the adverse rating on this item.

Tracking Number

If there was a shipping amount on the listing, you should have shipped the item to the buyer, as ebay looks for the tracking number to state Delivered.  When a local pickup is selected for a listing, the buyer is sent a QR code (as well as a 6 digit code) to give to the seller upon pickup in order to prove delivery since there is no tracking number.

You should have cancelled the listing and refunded the buyer.  Then relisted the item with Local Pickup.  The buyer then purchases the item, receives the QR code (as well as a 6 digit code) for you to enter into the transaction.

Since you did not do that, ebay thinks you did not ship the item to the buyer.  If you lost your top rated seller because of this, you must have had a few other defects as well.  I believe top rated sellers can only have no more than 3% of their sales without tracking.  You can try to decrease that percentage by listing more so you can sell more.

Tracking Number

@buttonberryhollow   You shouldn't have been downgraded for not uploading tracking for just one item unless you had other items sold without tracking.  Did you at least mark it as shipped?

You should have canceled the sale and relisted as local pick up so that the buyer could purchase it again.  Then you scan the qr code or enter the 6 digit code on the sold item, this serves as your "tracking proof of delivery"
