Timeframe for payment

If I make an agreement with a seller, before purchase, that if I buy an item I will pay on a certain date like a week later, why doesn't eBay allow this to happen? Ebay opens a case and warns the buyer without consulting the seller. How to stop this? If I'm selling an item and wish to allow the buyer however many days, how do I make this happen without eBay getting in the way?

The seller probably has it set to automatically open the unpaid item, and perhaps forgot, or doesn't know that it still applies in the new unpaid item process.

So if you make another arrangement like this, ask the seller to check his settings.

Hi @wooden_flower

I think the OP is the seller who made a typo in their first sentence ... saying 'seller' instead of 'buyer'.

Do you know how they can turn off the AA to stop the cancellation on Day 5?  I don't, unfortunately.

Under selling preferences, preferences for items awaiting payment, you set if you want unpaid items automatically cancelled, and how many days you want to allow for payment before cancellation.
