If I order something shipped from China,  for example a car part for $18.00, will I get charged a surprise fee because of the tariffs?

Effective May 2, 2025, goods of any value from China and Hong Kong will be subject to duties,
and shipments over $250 may require your nine-digit Social Security number before delivery.

Tariffs

So if I order something today and it doesn't get delivered until after May 2, 2025 will I get charged a tariff?

Tariffs

@wecor2340,

Tariffs are applied at the Port of Entry into the U.S.. If the item arrives in the U.S. before May2nd, a tariff should not be applied.

You could not pay me to buy a non name brand auto part from China because of poor fitment and the use of substandard materials.
