Splitting a payment between paypal credit and visa

I purchased an item that is over my paypal credit limit and I would like to split the payment so that part is paid via paypal credit and the balance with a debit through paypal. Is this something I can do on my own? Do I need to have the seller send 2 separate invoices?

Not sure if this works with PayPal credit or a debit card, but PayPal recently added a "Split" button on the checkout page to allow a payment to be split over two credit cards if they qualify.
