Sold items not automatically being removed from my active listing

I have been experiencing a serious problem with items that have sold, were paid and shipped but not removed from my active listings.  The items remain active but with a zero quantity (0 quantity). Unfortunately, buyers can order and I can accept offers even thought there is zero quantity. As a result I end up with an out of stock situation.

Does anybody have any suggestions on how I can fix this problem. Maybe I have a bad setting or something. Please share your thoughts, especially if you have experienced this problem.

You have the out of stock option turned on.  You can turn it off on this page, under multi-quantity listings -
