Shipping with ebay managed payment fiasco

So the way I understand it, ebay is holding MY payment for three days (no doubt to collect whatever interest they can) before depositing MY money into MY bank account. So do I ship before the money is deposited in my account when ebay notifies me of the sale? Not really comfortable with that, considering the current track record ebay is to be kind PATHETIC towards the seller community. Also the ebay convention needs to be totally over run by all who can attend protesting their insane idea of getting rid of the classic ebay seller tools for the **bleep** we now have forced on us.  Thought???
