I have sold a baseball card that was eligible for Ebay's authentication. The info page for authentication is vague and says that ebay will give me information on where to ship the card for authentication before the buyer receives it, but I haven't received anything and when I go to shipping labels through ebay, the only address that shows is the buyers. What do I do and where do I get the information for the place to ship it? I have already been paid by the customer, and also I have checked my messages and see nothing there. Obviously, this is my first time using the authentication. Thanks for any help!

Did the buyer provide a PO box for their address?

No.....it is a regular street address. I am aware that ebay will not do authentication for PO boxes.

What makes you think the address is the buyer's address and not the Authenticator's address?

Well.....now that you mention it, I don't. It has a persons name not anything that would connect it to ebay. But now that you mention it, the address IS a PO box FOLLOWED by a street address. Do the authenticators use PO boxes?

I have checked with the buyer and the name and address that would print on the shipping label are indeed the buyers. I still don't know where ebay wants me to ship for authentication. If I read the facts correctly, the buyer pays, I ship to the location that ebay tells me to for authentication, they check the item over then THEY ship to the buyer. I'm confused!!!

Yes, that is how the Authentication process works, BUT if the buyer uses a P.O. Box, then the authentication process cannot be used. When the seller ships to the authenticator, the seller cannot communicate with the buyer. Since you are able to communicate with the buyer, because the buyer uses a P.O. Box, then you will be shipping to the buyer, and NOT using the authentication guarantee.

Now THAT was helpful!!! I believe the buyer deals in cards and did mention to me he uses a specific authenticator. I just wish he had explained that better. Well, thank you so much you have been very helpful!
