EBay shipping calculator listed an item to ship with my measurements and weight at $9.25 for a 9”x9”x18” and 8.5 pounds and in an envelope. WTH? I could not get it to give an accurate shipping cost. I ran the same info on the USPS calculator and it came out just under $35.00.
I have sent other similar items and they were always $35-$50.
I wrote in the item description to add $35. to the winning bid to cover actual shipping cost.
The buyer made payment for what EBay said and did not add the actual shipping cost that was listed in the item description. I sent an email via EBay to explain in detail. No response from buyer, and I can not find away to discuss with EBay.
Trying to keep my positive feedback and do the right thing, but also do not like losing money.
Looking for suggestions on how to proceed. Anyone have some ideas?
Thank in Advance
Will

The buyer paid for parcel select, which is how you listed the item. I see $29 to me in IL. You can go to your payment account, click on the payment, then on the order # to see the shipping that the buyer paid. https://www.ebay.com/sh/fin
The problem is that eBay is phasing out parcel select, so it often does not show up as a selection for shipping. The shipping label page can't find it, so it shows you a flat rate envelope as the default.
Make sure you are on the custom packaging - not carrier provided packaging - tab. Then at the bottom of the list, click compare all services. Parcel select may show up there, and you can select it.
If it does not show up, you can print a parcel select label through paypal and enter the tracking # into eBay. Also check the cost compared to regular priority - sometimes the difference is quite small, and worth it to get the item to your buyer more quickly.
