Shipping multiple items

We are having an issue with the cost for shipping multiple items.  We have recently had a buyer purchase 10 of the same item, (we do no offer free shipping on these items).  When you go to print the shipping labels we find that ebay has multipled the weighted correctly but it does not change the size of the package, it stays as if it is only one item, causing the buyer to pay way less than the acutal cost to ship.  Has anyone else had this issue and/or know a solution to correct this.

Shipping multiple items

There is no way for eBay to know what the package size will be or if it will change. So if the package size for multiple units will add a surcharge, you need to figure out the best solution. A couple of possibilities:

  • List will fewer units available at a time. This may limit your sales, but you could put a notation in your description that more units are available and if interested contact for a combined shipping quote and you can create a special listing for them if they want to go through with the sale.
  • Uncheck the box to combine the shipping. The buyer will over-pay, but you can refund any over-payment when that happens.
