Shipping charges to Japan

I was asked how much it would cost to ship an item to Japan.  I have signed onto the Global Shipping program, but how exactly does that work?  The shipping charges within the lower 48 are $14.00.  Does that cover charges to the ebay's global shipping center?  What about from there to another country?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Shipping charges to Japan

You have to offer international shipping to make use of the global shipping center. If you have already enrolled in the global shipping program, you need to edit each of your items to add international shipping.  Then your potential buyer from Japan will see the shipping and any import taxes.

You can not figure out what those costs would be without adding international  shipping to your item.
