Shipped from inside US want me to return outside US

I bought an item that shipped from within the United States and now the seller wants me to return it internationally. Is this permissible? What can I do to avoid international shipping?

You are NOT obligated to return the item internationally.  You are only obligated to return the item to the address it was shipped from.  Depending on the seller's return policy, and the reason for the return determines who pays return shipping. If the seller wants the item returned internationally, s/he will have to send you enough funds to pay for that shipping.  That can be done via your Paypal account.
