Sent the wrong item and buyer asked for a return

Hi.  I realized I sent the buyer the wrong item, and I granted the request.  So now Ebay is going to send the buyer a mailing label, and as soon as he sends it back, as I understand it, they'll issue him a refund.  But he still wants the item (and I still want the payment).

How can I get the item to him and be sure Ebay doesn't process a refund?  Thanks!  He says he won't do anything until he gets the correct item.

If the buyer asked for a refund and not an exchange, eBay will issue the refund when you get the item back. You need to relist the item and let the buyer buy it again.
