Sent item back for return but ebay site won't accept tracking information

ebay intervened when a seller wouldn't give me a refund.  ebay sided with me and I printed a mailing label and sent the item back.  I didn't realize that I needed to put the tracking number in.   Now that I know that I need to put in the tracking number I tried to.  When I got to the page where ebay sends me to do this I get a message indicating that USPS cannot find the tracking number.  If i go to usps.com and put in the tracking number then I find out that the item has been delivered to the seller.   I can't even find any place to send this issue to except to the community.  Any idea how I can get this resolved.

There has been a glitch for some time.  Return labels don't need to have the tracking uploaded, as ebay knows what the tracking is, but not sure why it is asking for it.
