Selling fees

Hello Everyone,

I know this is probably a sore subject and I am sure everyone is having issues. So I am looking at fees on items I sell, truthfully I think EBAY should collect fees, but what I am always confused at is why we pay 12.55% of a complete sale? You actually are paying fees on Shipping as well as Sales Tax, so each sale you actually are losing more money than you should. Does everyone feel this is correct. Plus on top of it you get hit for .30 on every sale.

Selling fees

The total rate is a bit lower than the old eBay + paypal rates, to allow for the higher  fee on the tax - that way a single rate can be used.  It comes out about the same as before - sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.

Since paypal charged their fee on the tax, they would have had created a single higher rate to apply it to only the item and shipping - then we would complain about the rate going up.

I care more about the total fees not going up than I care about how they get there.  I am always in favor of the most simple calculation.

The $.30 is the same processing fee we paid paypal.

Fees have been charged on the shipping for over a decade. It stops sellers from over pricing the shipping, plus evens out the fees between the seller who charges for shipping and the seller that offers 'free' shipping.
