Selling an auction listing

How do members feel about auctions with a bid being ended eby the seller who sells to

Hadn't finished. Seller accepts an offer from another on an auction item with bid on it without a Best Offer option. I suppose this is Ebay acceptable but surely contrary to the auction process. Agreed?

The seller has to pay an additional fee equal to the Final Value Fee % times the highest cancelled bid, which is more designed to discourage "Reserve Fee Avoidance" than what you are talking about which is OK with eBay as long as the transaction with the offeror is on eBay so it gets the FVF on that one.

I advise sellers facing such an unsolicited offer to not do it.
