I would like to know why it's ok for a buyer to keep my item and get a refund and why i have to pay the fees when there was nothing wrong with the item nor was it a fake when i immediately offered the refund and submitted the return label for the buyer to return the item. Why does it mean i don't get my money or my item back if they go through their credit card and eBay refunds them the money. Is this not theft if i don't get my item or the money for the item and have to pay a fee because they asked for a refund and the eBay sellers fee. Technically when i selll something a person should get compensation? I'm not sure how i have to pay for someone to keep my item the money and i have to pay a sellers fee and this is fair how? I posted an item for sale and got nothing out of it and had to pay for eBay and the buyer to rob me basically. This is so wrong to do people this way

Hi @esmith6801
if you provided a return label and issued a refund, the buyer must return the item according to eBay's policy. If they didn’t, here’s what you need to know:
1. Buyers Must Return the Item to Get a Refund
eBay requires buyers to return the item before a refund is processed unless an exception is made.
If you issued a refund but never received the item back, you should contact eBay support to dispute the case.
2. If the Buyer Keeps the Item and Gets a Refund
This should not happen under normal circumstances unless:
The buyer opened a chargeback with their credit card company.
eBay overrode the return process based on an investigation.
If this happens, you may be able to appeal the decision or report the buyer for violating eBay’s policies.
3. Buyer Misuse & Abusive Returns
If a buyer is abusing the return process (e.g., keeping items, sending back the wrong item, falsely claiming a refund), you should report them under eBay’s Abusive Buyer Policy:
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/rules-policies-buyers/abusive-buyer-policy?id=4374
Buyers who violate eBay’s policies can lose refund privileges, face account suspension, or be blocked from opening cases in the future.
4. Request eBay Support to Step In
If the buyer did not return the item and still received a refund, eBay should step in to review the case.
You can contact eBay directly for assistance:

5. eBay’s Return Policy
For reference, you can review eBay’s official return policy to see when a buyer must return an item:
https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/return-item-refund?id=404...
If you provided a return label and the buyer never shipped the item back, you should be protected. I recommend contacting eBay support to dispute the refund and reporting the buyer if necessary.
