Seller Cancels Order but says Buyer wanted to?

Can you please suggest that "new" sellers set Reserves on their listed items?

I've had two consecutive days of Sellers Cancelling and then lying about either damaging item whilst packaging it or that they "forgot it was listed" THEN they cancel it within Ebay using "BUYER WANTED TO CANCEL"     

Why if Seller is on the up and up would they need to lie?  Why does this reoccur daily?  This looks bad for Buyer on returns and cancellations when it's anything BUT THAT?

2. On the next page, enter the seller's ID and select Other.
3. In the comment section, write "In order to avoid a defect, seller cancelled order stating that I requested the cancellation ."
