The search feature on eBay has gotten so outlandish that I get returns than contain NONE of my search terms. It is obvious that eBay has been taken over by the sellers' demands to get their items under the eyes of buyers.  Surely this must backfire, because I literally cannot find what I am looking for anymore. Moreover, after 22 years, I have had it with this ever worsening situation.  EBay has totally lost its way and forgotten that ultimately only buyers bring money to eBay. Goodbye eBay. Good riddance. You were a good idea at one time, long ago, and you reap what you sow.

eBay will match results that contain your keywords in the title or in the item-specifics. The item-specifics are the keywords located in the box above the body of the item description. The item-specifics are the keywords that are used when filtering using the filter options shown at the top or left side of the search results. If you do not see your keywords in the item titles, those keywords may be in the item-specifics.

In some cases eBay will also match synonyms for your keywords, or make spelling corrections or find alternative versions of your keywords. You can bypass this by putting one of your keywords in quotes. This will force eBay to search for literal matches to your search keywords only, with no corrections or substitutions.

If you provide an indication of what you are looking for and how you are searching, someone may be able to make some suggestions that may make searching easier.
