A seller asked me to pay through Venmo so I’m worried it’s a scam how can I call Ebay before I pay

Venmo is not an accepted payment method.

eBay transactions can only be paid for using the methods indicated on the checkout page.

Hi @teresa6283 

You should pay with one of payment options shown in the listing in order to maintain your buyer protection.  Sellers don’t get to choose how a buyer pays.

What are you trying to buy? Item number?

Do not pay that way. If it's  a scam you won't get your money back.

The seller is trying to take the transaction off eBay. You need to pay through eBay checkout by clicking the Pay Now button and using one of the accepted payment methods.
