Is it normal for sales to completely slump in January.  I am new to Ebay, but was gaining traction throughout December.  Now a complete standstill, one sale in 2 weeks?

Yes, it is normal for sales to slump in January.  Most users spent their money for Christmas presents and need to get more money before resuming their purchases.  This will also happen at the end of Summer as users take vacations prior to school restarting.
