Sales are so low right now. Why?

I have a top-rated seller with great reviews and offer returns. I do sales and promotions.  Why is business so bad right now?  Google says it is because EBAY is in decline, but our business was on the uptick until last September. So, what is the truth?

There is no way to predict sales. What happened yesterday, will likely be different tomorrow. 

Apparently, even Walmart is expecting lower sales this year. 
There is a lot of uncertainty right now. People may be waiting to see how the first 100 days go, before making any frivolous purchases.
