SELLING GOOGLE PLAY GIFT CARDS

I am aware of the popularity of gaming gift cards, but I have noted that the Google Play Unused Gift Cards are selling higher on Ebay auctions than the value of the card. Can someone please respond to my question of Why is this? Most sellers are specifying USA only, and stating card will be mailed-no emails to avoid fraud, but I dont comprehend why someone would bid almost double the  actual value on a Goggle Play Gift Card on Ebay when it can be purchased at most gift card retailers and pay only the actural value.

 Thank you for  your response...

I can't speak for everyone – heck, maybe not even for anyone – but I can think of one reason.  If someone lives out in the boonies and wants to give their granddaughter a gift card, they might prefer the convenience of buying one on line, even though they have to pay more, than going to the hassle of driving all the way into town to buy it in person.

Perhaps that hypothetical grandparent described above actually had gone into town before, but then drove all over and still couldn't find what she wanted.  That has happened to me, and I'd certainly be willing to toss in a few extra bucks to buy one on line, rather than going through that again...
