Return request

New to eBay here. Buyer purchased boots from me. They did not fit and he opened a return request. We chatted back and forth and I gladly offered him a full refund upon receipt of the boots. He decided to keep them for his son, but he never cancelled the return request. My payout is on hold because of this. Any suggestions on how to handle this? I did ask that he cancel the return after he decided to keep the boots but it hasn’t happened yet. Thank you for your help with this.

All you can do is to send another message to the buyer to cancel/close the return request.  It will time out when it is past the time for the buyer to return the item.  Unfortunately, you will have to wait until that time comes before the hold is released if the buyer will not cancel/close the returns request.
