Do you think it's right they retracted a negative review I was sent? They sent the wrong item and Ileft a negative review and because I accepted my money back they retracted my review. My question is what is the point of a reviewing system if the seller is allowed to lie and have negative reviews taken down. How are others supposed to know you are not able to send the right items to the right person. That's sounds pretty important to know that they made those kind of mistakes and aren't as reliable. So the seller found a way around the truth. Are you guys alright with that???

When a case is opened neither the seller or the buyer can leave feedback.

I know how they have it rigged to try to keep the seller happy and selling. My question is do you think it's right that others won't know this seller is incompetent and could possibly send you the wrong item. The review system is there to help buyers pick someone they can trust. Not letting someone leave an honest review seems really shady on ebay's part.

Sellers are human and it could have been a simple mistake of accidentally switching shipping labels. The first step was to file a Returns Request for an Item Not as Described. The seller accepts the return and provides a prepaid return shipping label for the return of the item. When tracking shows DELIVERED, the seller refund within 2 days. If no refund, you go back to the case and click Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund. It sounds like you didn't do that, and left negative feedback instead. ebay gives you 60 days to leave feedback. Plenty of time to contact the seller and get problems ironed out.

I got my refund so don't try to say I don't know what I'm doing. So sellers can make mistakes and not have consequences. Doesn't sound right to me. I only tried to leave neg feedback because ebay lets sellers get away with being incompetent.

Everytime you get a wrong item are you supposed to not get a refund so you can leave an honest review??? Why not be honest don't we deserve to know the seller is less reliable and deserve to receive what we ordered. Or be given the chose to know they've made mistakes and therefore aren't supposed to have a 100 percent rate when they send the wrong thing to you.

I reread your comment and the seller wouldn't let me ship back the item so he could send it to the right person. Instead he wanted me and the other person to find a way to exchange information and exchange items but still wanted money which is against ebay policy. He should've had us ship back items on his dime and resent them to the right place. Being human isn't an excuse if you want to stay in business you have to do your job right. If I sold someone something and missed up I would do anything to fix the problem. He didn't instead he hid behind ebay's skirt. He is the worst seller in my opinion because he doesn't try to go by the rules. Ebay is the real problem for hiding his mistake so now others are gonna go through the same thing I did. If I'd see bad reviews I don't order from those sellers even if I have to pay more ordering from someone else because at least I will get what I ordered.

The recommended procedure is to have each buyer file a Returns Request, so the seller pays return shipping, and then seller ships the correct item to each buyer. ebay does not recommend having each buyer send the item to the other buyer, as that means the seller has to give contact information to the other buyer, and some buyers may not want their contact information given to a total stranger.
AFAIK, ebay has decided to remove negative feedback if the buyer has been refunded. I don't know if this change is in response to sellers who fully refund and do not feel the neg is warranted. Unfortunately, it does hide any actions that led to the neg.

I did the return to sender first and was ready to send it back. I would have even paid shipping to him but he said he rather give out our information and we should swap items then we had to pay him still. I didn't think that was right so I just took my refund instead. I understand that a refund cancels out a negative review but it really shouldn't. Especially with a shady seller like this one is. Now I didn't want to start problems so I didn't report him for that but maybe I should have.

The seller did get in trouble, you just don't know it or won't see it. We sellers are held to a certain standard of cases opened for returns, late shipments, and other things you don't see. Your case hurt the seller and from what I read, there will be 2 of them. It doesn't sound malicious, just a mistake. Your seller is human, not a corporation.
If the seller refunded you, he/she did right by the buyer and neither party can leave feedback. Trust me (mainly a seller), the system is geared more towards buyers than sellers. This just happens to be one positive thing about offering free returns.

I really don't believe the seller got in any trouble just from how his attitude about the situation was. Even if he did it couldn't have been much more than a slap on the hand since his rating didn't go down even though he made a huge mistake. Being human and not a corporation sounds like more and more excuses instead of just admitting some people probably shouldn't be sellers. I could've reported him for trying to give out my information to another buyer but I didn't. I make mistakes and understand noone is perfect. The reason ebay is so geared to buyer's is because this kind of stuff happens alot because some people just shouldn't be sellers sending people the wrong items. Like I said I would have payed to send back the item so the other guy could get what he needed and so could I. The seller wouldn't cooperate because he knows it's not gonna change his rating even though he didn't want to do the right thing. Everyone lost in this situation and ebay was like oh well keep selling with a false rating because it's all about money not protecting the buyers from this type of stuff.
