Replying to buyer messages

I had a buyer wanting to ask a question about the item the just bought and asked me to reply to a gmail account. Is this legit?

Probably not. Reply back and say you will be happy to communicate through eBay messaging.

That will likely be the last you hear from this buyer, so after 4 full days of non-payment, cancel the transaction using the reason that the buyer hasn't paid.

Thank you! That’s what I figured. After replying through  the eBay site, the user was no longer an active member 🙄
