I want to find an order that l made some years ago and is no longer listed on eBay. Have requested a history but the download they sent does not open. Any suggestions?

Hi @storage-guy
If the purchase was made through PayPal they keep records for 7 years. You can go there and use the Statements page and refine the Report to the time in question. If memory serves they can produce a CSV formatted database which opens in Excel and you can sort the spreadsheet by the various columns (Like price if you remember about what you paid).

-eBay Financial statements are pdf format
-eBay Transaction reports are CSV formatted databases

You can usually take info from @mr_lincoln to the bank. So, assuming your file is in fact a CSV file, then according to the information I gleaned by googling how do you open a file in CSV format (hint, hint) you should be able to open it in Excel.
