UPC codes

a brand new item I'm selling is crafted art and does not use UPC codes. eBay won't let me list. Any suggestions. I called them they told me to put not available, or not used or a fake number. None of that worked. I'm soooooo frustrated. I couldn't remove the best offer on several listings for last few days also. Anyone else have these problems?

If listed in the appropriate category, like art, or handcrafted item, you might avoid the UPC field altogether, or enter "does not apply". Don't enter a fake UPC code, as it is possible that it is in use by a mfr, or could make the buyer believe they're buying a mass-produced item. If it is mass-produced but hand painted, for example, you can probably find the UPC through a google search.
