Questionable Buyer

I recently sold a monitor with no-returns clearly stated.  The buyer went through the eBay process of claiming that the monitor was not as described.  The proof, photos, did not support the buyers claims.  When asked for further proof the buyer never responded.  I went through the refund process, refunded the buyer's money and told the buyer to keep the monitor.  One of the buyer's claims was that some seal on the back of the monitor appeared to be broken which indicated that the monitor had been altered.  I asked for proof of that and never got a response.  In all of this eBay's processes have completely favored the buyer.  I don't want the monitor back, but I do want my money back.

Questionable Buyer

@acatejr   I am sorry but you are not getting your money back.  You can write off the loss on your taxes next year.  Your return policy only applies if the buyer files a buyer's remorse return:  Doesn't fit, changed mind, etc.    The eBay Money Back Guarantee overrules your returns policy.

If the buyer files a refund request saying that the item is not as described then you need to accept the return and issue the return shipping label.

Here's how returns work>>

If you do not accept the return willingly then the buyer can ask eBay to step in and forces a refund. You do not get your seller's fees back, you get a defect and the buyer may be allowed to keep the item.

If the buyer abuses the eBay MBG in some way then you can report them but it doesn't get your money back:

Sellers have protection for return abuse if they offer FREE RETURN shipping on their listings OR if they are a Top Rated seller and offer 30 days or greater returns.  The seller can then reduce the refund amount by up to 50% if the buyer sends a different item or somehow reduces the value of the item.
