Hello!

My item just sold, and the packed item is heavier than the item itself, so the postage is a few dollars more than what eBay listed. I didn't want to use the eBay shipping label, since it was based only on the item weight, not the packed item weight, and I didn't want to risk the item being returned to me, since I'm moving out of state next week. So, I cancelled the eBay shipping label, and created my own USPS Priority Mail label on the USPS website, and decided to include Signature Confirmation to make sure the buyer got it.

I messaged the buyer that I'd created a separate USPS Priority Mail shipping label since it's slightly heavier when packed, than what was listed in the listing for the item itself, and I gave him the tracking number.

But, I still see that in my selling screen that the old eBay tracking number is still indicated and the item marked as Shipped and using their label. And, the funds for payment are on hold until they confirm shipping.

Questions:

- Is it ok that I used an outside source, USPS, to print the label and ship the item?

- Will eBay still consider this shipped even though I'm not using their label (even though it shows that it's shipped and that I'm using their label?)

- How will this affect me getting paid for this transaction?

Yes, you can buy your shipping labels anywhere.

You need to go to the order and update the tracking number.

I was also able to get in touch with an eBay Expert Seller who said I could "Add" the additional tracking info to the already existing tracking number, so eBay knows that I shipped it and they have it in their records, which I did.

I messaged my buyer with the updated info, including tracking number.

And, she told me that I will get paid for the transaction once eBay can confirm that the item was shipped, and received by the buyer.

How soon you'll get paid is up to Ebay.

Since you're a new seller, they can hold the funds for 30 days.
