Hello all,
I purchased an item on Ebay marked "local pickup only". I paid for the item and paid for collection + shipping from Louisiana to Ireland. The buyer refuses to ship the item because, as the shipper stated, "he was extremely furious on us asking for Commercial Invoice and Tax ID for Export documentation and has completely refused to provide us anything stating that he never opted for exporting outside US.".
Is he correct? Have I missed something about local pickup only? I did not see a "Does not ship outside the US" message or similar on the Ebay listing and I have paid all shipping costs.
Thanks.

Local pickup only means just that !
How did you pay shipping cost when there is none for local pickup?

I paid shipping costs to a shipper to collect on my behalf. Is that not allowed?

The seller would need to agree to it ,and it appears that they did not.

Hi @codonoghue
If the shipper arranged with the seller to pick up the item … AND THEN the shipper packaged up and shipped the item to you … then all would be well.
Sellers list items as ‘Local Pickup Only’ when they want nothing more to do with the item but hand it over to the buyer (after it’s been inspected).
Did you arrange with the shipper to pack up and ship the item for you … AND to do all the paperwork required for an international transport?
