Printing out single barcode for USPS to scan in all my packages

My postal clerk keeps asking me if I could print out a consolidated barcode that he can scan which will scan in all of my packages at once. I bring in around 10-20 packages and he is saying there should be an option, after I’m done printing all of my labels for the day, to print a single bar code that he could scan, instead of all 20 packages, that will enter all my items into their system. I print all of my labels through eBay and never leave the eBay site while printing my labels. Is there such an option available in eBay that will allow this?

Re: Printing out single barcode for USPS to scan in all my packages

That is called a scan form.  You can print a scan form from eBay, but you have to use bulk shipping to do it.

If you normally use the 'purchase shipping label' link from your sold orders page, in the upper right you should see a link 'print labels in bulk'. That takes you to this page -

https://gslblui.ebay.com/gslblui/bulk

Create all of your labels, then when you are ready, click 'scan forms' in the upper right. Create and then print your form.

Re: Printing out single barcode for USPS to scan in all my packages

Perfect. Thank you. I was able to bulk print my labels for the first time about right after I printed them, I selected the “print scan form” and got this message. “Bulk label printing error Error retrieving scan form” I tried going back, refreshing screen, clicking button again. Still same error. I’m not sure if you can figure this one out due to maybe computer settings or just a glitch. Any ideas?

Re: Printing out single barcode for USPS to scan in all my packages

You have to generate the scan form before you can print it.  I don’t have any shipments today, so I can’t see the wording, but in the top part of the screen, under available there should be a button to generate the form.  Is that where you are getting the error message?

Sometimes the system is down and you can’t get the form, but not very often.  I’m going to ask another mentor if there is an issue.

@inceptions  Are you shipping today?  If so, do you an issue with the scan form?

Thanks. I’ll keep an eye out for the reply from your friend. I’ll ship again tomorrow and see if I can get it to work. I watched a video someone posted on YouTube about this process and followed what he in the order in which he did them. He was able to print the sheet but I received the error. Anyway, I’ll keep trying daily. Hopefully it will work tomorrow

Re: Printing out single barcode for USPS to scan in all my packages

Hi @wooden_flower @themustardseed4851

I was able to successfully create and print my scan form this morning, but that error came up for my last week. When it does, it's impossible to get the scan form (my diagnosis is that it's caused by a glitch in the program).

When you try again tomorrow, the packages from this last batch won't be there...only your new batch will be included.

This has happened a few times for me over the years and it's pretty frustrating when it does, but fortunately you can go years between glitches. (I had over 30 packages in the batch the day the form wouldn't generate. Thankfully my mail carrier didn't grumble about scanning them for me. If you schedule pickups, it's good to cultivate a good relationship with your carrier. 🙂)

As @wooden_flower mentioned, what you should see after creating your labels is a page when you click buttons to print your labels and your label purchase summary. There is also a button that says generate scan form (or similar wording). When you generate the scan form, your come to a page that looks like this:

Below is a link to that page.

https://gslblui.ebay.com/gslblui/bulk/scan-forms

if you did generate the form, it will be there.

Save that link somewhere...I got it from eBay a few years back...I can't find a way to get there without it. I saved the link for myself in the Shortcuts box on Seller Hub).

Hope that helps!

Perfect. Thanks for the link. I saved it in my shortcuts. I’ll give it a try tomorrow. Yes, my carrier will be very happy if and when I can start printing out this new sheet.

Re: Printing out single barcode for USPS to scan in all my packages

Well, I've done this for 5 times in a row and I get the same error every time I try and print the scan form. I purchase all the labels at once, which is different than one at a time like before, but I print them and the next step is click on the "print scan form". I click it and get the same error, for the last 5 days. 😞

I found another post on the same issue, so I posted it on the tech issues board.  I hope this will get some attention on the issue.
