Postage Due

I've gotten back into trading cards, and in the last few weeks have noticed LOT of items arriving postage due, especially those utililzing E-bay's labels.  Spoke with 3 different mail carriers, they state its due to the thickness of the envelopes used, they're either 'non-machineable" or in the 2 most extreme cases were technically "packages" due to the thickness.  Just curious if anyone else has noticed this?

Postage Due

The standard envelope label can not be used on an envelope more than 1/4" thick.  To be forced to the package rate , those envelopes must have been 3/4" thick.

The standard envelope package must also be flexible.

@shipscript- do you have a photo showing the flexibilty required? I remember that you investigated this.  thanks!

Postage Due

Ah yes, the travels and travails of an envelope through the USPS sorting hub:

eBay has some recommendations here:

But my test is to make sure the envelope can bend around a coffee cup.
