Possible Unreasonable Request from Buyer

After having the item for approx 3 weeks, buyer sends me a message saying he is now missing a tiny part to the item and he wants me to find a replacement and send this tiny part to him.  I asked him to send me a photo of the problematic area.  I have a lot of photos stored of this item, and I believe the item was shipped to him intact and not missing this little part.  What seems to be happening here?  What should I do if he lost this part while item was in his possession, but he is now coming back to me for some type of resolution?  Thank you very much.

Possible Unreasonable Request from Buyer

If you can, send him the part. If you can't, the buyer may request a return/refund for a defective item. If the buyer does that, you will either pay for the return and refund or let the buyer keep the item and refund.
