I recently sold a tool for $4000. Why does eBay have a hold on my money for 30days? They say it’s put on hold to make sure it gets delivered (witch it’s been delivered for two weeks now) I REALLY need my money. I gotta get my car fixed. I’ve already lost two jobs because I can’t get to work. Someone stole my car and kept the key. I have no way to get around untill I have my Mercedes towed to a dealership.

You're a new seller and it sold for more then $1000, so they will hold the funds for 30 days.
They want to make sure the funds are there in case the buyer wants to return it.

Hi @thomu-8084 Below is a link to the eBay Help pages regarding Payment Holds. I understand needing the money for sure but at the end of the day its possible that if you had the money but spent it ... if the Buyer then Returned the item (which they can) you would be forced to Refund them what they paid ...

Thank you all for the help. It’s just a little too long to make someone wait. But I understand. I might build my own website just like eBay and give eBay a run for the money. Just like coke and Pepsi. Ebay has zero competition. It’s the only platform that does what it does so all of us are at the mercy of eBay and whatever they wanna do. But that’s the way it goes I guess. Thank you all!
