My goal is to learn about the need to include a SS# to receive my payouts. I'm an individual seller, although I do own and operate a non-ebay related business under a DBA. I am attempting to use that tax ID number and it will not verifiy with ebay. I'm reluctant to enter my SS# into my ebay account. Suggestions?

If your account is a personal account, you have to use your SS#.

You should be able to use your EIN for tax reporting if your account is set up as a business account, but eBay does require you to enter your SS# as the beneficial owner.  As far as I know, there is no way around this requirement.

I put in my EIN for my business entity which is not ebay related.  It seems I must set up a business account with Ebay and get another EIN number for that business entity.  Thank you for your help.
