I have a $300 balance in paypal. I am buying a $40 item from ebay, and want to use my paypl balance, and not the linked credit card. Payment via PayPal is not offered on the ebay site for this transaction, which is in US dollars and ships from USA. It only offers paypal payment using the credit card. Why?

What is the Item #?
Did you check your PayPal Wallet and make sure your credit card is not marked as preferred payment source?

What may be going on is that I have a paypal personal account. PayPal is saying that I need a PayPal Cash account to be able to use the account balance to pay for an ebay purchase. I have yet to understand if a pp cash account is sort of an add on to my personal account, or a replacement for it. Apparently there are no fees for the simple use I'd have for it - to pay for items on ebay, and transfer balance to a bank. Is there any reason I should not get a Cash account? The other issue is that the only way pp has said I can create a cash account is to accept money someone sends me into that kind of account, vs a bank account. No one sends me money through paypal.
