Some users have a person declare the method of payment that is to be billed upon a successful bid which can only be changed before the auctions end. If a person wants to use say Paypal Credit after he finds out how many auctions he has won,  but not all of the time, how can he do that?

The winner has 1 hour after the auction ends to checkout manually, at which time s/he can use one of the accepted payment methods, including the ones not available when placing the bid (e.g. eBay Gift Card, PayPal Credit).

eBay is testing a longer period in which payment can be combined, e.g. for a discount for combined shipping, but the test group at present seems fairly small.   Be aware that even if eBay says they won't bill the payment method for 7 days that does not extend the 4 days for payment before the seller can cancel for non-payment (s/he can wait longer but do NOT assume s/he will because eBay says 7 days).
