PayPal charges from eBay with no record of purchases

I sent a bid on for two items. I have heard nothing back on the bids, yet there are $400 worth of pending charges  from eBay on my PayPal account. There is no record in my Purchases for purchases. I cannot get anyone to help me at this point. Has this happened to anyone else?

Customer Service on ebay.com, the USA site, is only for members located in the USA and Canada, between the hours of 5am-10pm Pacific Time. Click on HELP & CONTACT at the top right corner of most screens.  Work through the questions.  At the end you can either send a message or use the Call Me option.
