Pay Pal Credit

Hello, I found out this morning from PayPal that not all merchants on e-bay will accept PayPal CREDIT. Is this true? How would I know this before making a purchase? It shows PayPal, and I set my preferred funding source to PayPal Credit with PayPal before I made the purchase, but it still went through regular PayPal account and charged my MasterCard. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, You65

Pay Pal Credit

If the seller has not opted out of auto pay, which ebay opted all sellers into in order to try and decrease unpaid transactions, Paypal Credit cannot be selected when prompted to selected an auto pay method.  However, if you have the winning bid or the seller accepts your Best Offer, you have 1 hour in order to manually pay, and you should be able to select Paypal Credit in order to pay the seller.

Pay Pal Credit

Sellers don't have a say in the payments that eBay will accept in particular situations.

What you are most likely running into is that PP Credit is not available to pre-authorize automatic payment where that is required when you make an offer or place a bid (the seller mostly controls whether that is required).   PP Credit is available at Checkout (of course IF the listing and the buyer are eligible for it under PP rules).  As noted by the prior responder, you have 1 hour after winning an auction to checkout manually to override the automatic payment settings.
