Not enough shipping cost on package

Anonymous
Not applicable

I just made my first sale. I had a flat rate box which has a standard shipping rate. When I was printing the shipping label I was asked about the weight and size. I took a guess and received the postage with label. To be safe I went to post office to be sure it was enough. I owed more but they would not add on extra postage to the package saying I already had a label.

My concern is - Will my buyer get charged the extra postage? I was using Free Shipping. How will this get handled? Help! Will Ebay bill me? I will have an irate customer!

Thank you!

Not enough shipping cost on package

When you use a flat rate box, you need to select that flat rate box size in the list of services when you buy your label.

Did your PO reject the package or did they take it?

If they rejected it, gave it back to you to fix, then you void the label and buy a new one.

If they took it, then the automated system might catch it and charge you for the difference, or it might be delivered postage due. If delivered postage due, send the buyer the money to cover it - not as a refund against their payment (in case there is an issue with the item and you need to issue a refund later) but as a payment through paypal zelle venmo, whatever your customer prefers.
