Nonpayment with request from buyer to txt them

Anonymous
Not applicable

Why are buyers asking me to txt them: This has happen numerous times when a someone buys an item of mine. They want me to txt instead of using eBay’s messaging. Is anyone else having this problem? If so, how are you handling it?

Nonpayment with request from buyer to txt them

@Anonymous

This is most likely to happen to newer Sellers that are doing auctions. This quickest, easiest solution is to switch to a Buy It Now format for your listings.

In the meantime, never contact a Buyer outside eBay messaging. If they want you to text before they pay, that is a scam and they have no intention of paying. Four full days after the auction ends and if they have not paid, you can cancel the transaction for "buyer didn't pay". This will create a strike on their account. Only then can you relist that item.
