I mistakenly thought I had been overcharged for a purchase and I filed a dispute with Palpal when I got no response from the seller. Paypal dismissed my claim an hour later and I realized I was wrong. The item is not the right size and I want to return it - the seller accpepts returns. When I try to process the return ebay refuses with this:

Once a buyer files a payment dispute outside of eBay, eBay may no longer help with that transaction:

Hi @edwulet
I’m so sorry, but once we’ve filed a case with PayPal or our payment source … we automatically lose our ability to ask eBay for help.
You can try going through your credit card company if the seller doesn’t respond.
[You forfeited your rights with eBay when you filed your claim with PayPal. You should ALWAYS start with eBay … and then go elsewhere only if eBay is unhelpful.]

Of course before I contacted PayPal I first tried the seller and sent two messages that got no response. I then tried ebay and all I got was a maze of automated questions that led nowhere and then somehow got to a useless ebay chat that ended with a promise to escalalte that never happened.

I recall the confusion about the pricing of those two pairs of shoes, which could have caused bad feelings with the seller.
We usually don’t need to speak or Chat with an eBay rep … just go directly to our Purchase History and file a return request.
That’s now water under the bridge. You can only go through your credit card company now … and probably will have to pay for returning the shoes. Good luck! 🙂
We want your journey here to be as great as can be, so we have put together some links to help you get quickly familiarized with the eBay Community.
