No navigation pain when ad has html content

My listings contain html; mainly to offer links to similar products on my ebay catalog.  When users click to "view full item description", on my ads with html, the navigation pane on the left is no longer there.  The navigation pane is viewable when the listing does not contain html.  This problem started when eBay stopped showing the full item description on any ads that contain html.

HTML, javascript, and active content do not create the problem.

The only reason eBay would open your description one-click-away is if it contained non-secure media (images, videos, stylesheets) that are not delivered over a secure connection. You can scan your listings here to see what was flagged as having a non-SSL protocol  (having http instead of https) and can use the EXAMINE button on any that fail.

I examined your specific item directly in the Sandbox tool:

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentSandbox.htm

Open the "Markup" tab to see the highlighted issues.  That listing is clean except for the SSL issues.

Since your website does not currently support https, you won't be able to simply change the http protocol to include the "s". You may want to look into adding an SSL certificate to your website. Because there is now a big move in that direction, web hosting services are lowering their prices for SSL certificates, and some will even offer the free https://letsencrypt.org/ certificate (which is what I had my provider add to one of my websites).  Mainstream providers have gotten their prices under $40.

If you can't upgrade your website to overcome the problem, then you currently have two other options:

1) remove all non-secure media (images)

or

2) live with your description being one-click-away

I have a feeling that the one-click-away solution is only temporary to get sellers past the new browser security problem during the holidays. I would not be surprised if the non-secure content might be banned sometime next year.

So, think to the future when you decide which approach to take.
