Net Proceeds vs Actual Payout

I am the seller & it looks like I got charged 13.25% on the value of the sales tax for my state.  The difference between my net proceeds and actual payout per eBay emails is $53.

Also, I keep getting notifications that I need to provide my SSN in order to get payments off hold & that has been done over a week ago.

Buyer sends item price + shipping + sales tax.  ebay charges the FVF on the amount the buyer pays.  You receive item price + shipping less FVF.

Did you send a photo of your SSN or did you simply type it in the reply to ebay?

The sales tax is calculated for the BUYER's state, not the seller's (your) state.

eBay acts as both a selling venue and a payment collection, and sellers pay fees for both functions. Back when PayPal handled most payment processing it based its fee on the total amount collected from the buyer, as do all payment processors that I am aware of, but eBay based it's "Final Value Fees" on only the price plus shipping fees the buyer paid (years ago it was only on the price but too many sellers evaded the fees by inflating the s/h while deflating the price). When eBay took over both functions it combined both fees into a single fee (which confusingly they continued to call "Final Value Fees") and decided the single fee would be based on the total payment but reduced the rate to lower than the prior total of the two rates.

I typed the number in.  I did not send a JPEG or PNG file.

Thank you for the clarification.  I have one message that stated $X was my "net proceeds" then another that states $Y (Y is $52.92 less) will be the "scheduled payout to bank account".  $52.92 happens to be the shipping cost that was to be paid by the buyer.
