Need help changing username. Website won't let me.

I just signed up for an eBay account and the website won't let me change the generic username that they gave me  when I signed up. The new username that I want is only letters and numbers, but when I type it in and click SAVE I get a message on the screen that says:

"Your username can only include letters, numbers, and some special characters."

Anyone know what the problem might be?

It is because your account is new.  You can only change your user name once every 30 days.
