I've been buying/selling on E-bay for over 20 years, but have noticed a new trend that is very frustrating - and frankly, completely shady! Several months ago, after seeing (and reporting...never got an acknowledgment) the same guitar listed by 4 different Japanese sellers, I ended up buying it via Yahoo Japan for a few hundred dollars less (!). Today E-bay sent me an e-mail with results from a saved search, and it's the same exact item (guitar) being listed by SIX different sellers, and all with different prices?! How is this allowed?
This is an oddity I have seen specifically with guitars from sellers in Japan in the past.
I don't know why they do this. Each seller has several thousand listings. Perhaps they all work together to dominate these particular listing categories, but you would have to be able to prove that or at least have some evidence to complain about it.
