Missing shipments

Hello, I have a couple of packages i've sent out that are missing in action. They both have made it to the state they were sent to but they have been at respective post offices for weeks. One of them actually says out for delivery since aug. 12th. That one is Sarasota FL.  The other is New Jersey. Has anyone had to deal with a similar issue? Both buyers are extremely patient and neither one has messaged other than answering my inquiry as to if they received the shipments or not. Is this an issue that is a post office call or does e-bay do anything because the tracking #'s associated with each package appear to be e-bay #'s and not USPS. Thank you for any help or advice.

That is what I would do and let the buyers know what is happening and keep them updated.
