I don't want to go thru the return process it is difficult and costly for me. The seller does not respond to my messages

This is easy couple of clicks at not cost to you.  Open a Return Request for an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED, missing parts. Seller can send missing part, or pay for the return, if he wants it back, and/or refund. If no response by the fourth day, go back and ask ebay to step in. Do not close or let the case expire without doing this, if not resolved.

You are entitled to a full refund upon return of the item at the seller’s expense  … but you will need to open a Return Request from your Purchase History … choosing ‘Item doesn’t match the description or photos’ as the reason for the request.

There is no way to force a refund (or replacement) from the seller without being willing to return whatever you received.  It would cost you nothing.
