I have been communicating with a buyer in Ebay messages for several months. She just likes to talk. We’re just talking. And it seems that eBay has discontinued my ability to respond and now I’ve got a customer who thinks I’ve ghosted her. How can I resolve this? I have no other contact information and it’s doubtful that she can reach out to me. This is a customer. Why would eBay do this? This is my business. Why would eBay do this

Perhaps you exceeded eBay's  daily number of messages you can send. After 24 hrs try again.

If the conversation began in reference to a particular listing, once the listing has expired, the conversation might be interrupted due to that.

 

Try going to the user's feedback or profile page, and using the "contact" link there to start up a new conversation. If prompted for an item number, choose "not about an item".
