Message limit

Has anyone had experience of exceeding messages .

"You've exceeded the maximum number of messages you can send. Please wait 24 hours to send more messages."

I couldn't believe it. I was in discussions with a buyer about a price and delivery when I got this message. Completely cocked up my sale.

eBay help subjects no use to resolve either.
